The No.2 cargo crane (MacGregor GLB 30/28, s/n 7741) has been losing hoisting pressure and the boom drifts down under load, with visible oil weeping from the luffing cylinder gland. The crane has been taken out of service by the Master and the vessel is currently working cargo with the remaining three cranes. We require a MacGregor approved service team to attend the vessel in Piraeus, carry out a full inspection of the hydraulic circuit, renew the luffing cylinder seals, flush the system and replace the return line filters, and carry out a load test to the satisfaction of the attending class surveyor. Hydraulic oil (approx. 400 litres, ISO VG 46) and consumables to be included in the quotation. Class attendance will be arranged by the owner.
